Frog Aides

Frog Aides is a First-Year Leadership Opportunity (FLO) for incoming students who are passionate about discovering why and how they want to lead.

Through weekly workshops, service opportunities, and a cohort-wide “Big Project,” students explore their leadership style while creating meaningful, servant-focused impact in the community.

Along the way, members build lasting relationships through shared experiences such as an overnight retreat, small groups, and connections that extend far beyond their first year at TCU.

Since its founding in 2005, Frog Aides has evolved in many ways, but one thing has remained the same: Frog Aides develops leaders who are prepared to make a difference in the world. Are you up for the challenge?

Weekly Workshops

Every week brings a new leadership topic. From time management and servant leadership to conflict resolution and empathy, students will engage in lessons and conversations to help them become a well-rounded leader.

Small Groups

Members will join a small group of fellow first-years students, led by upper-class mentors who’ve been exactly where you are. Together, you’ll work together to plan and execute real initiatives on campus while forming strong connections with your group.

Community Service

As a member of Frog Aides, students will learn what it truly means to be a servant leader. The cohort will engage in a variety of service opportunities throughout the year to make an impact on campus and beyond.

Big Project

In the Spring semester, the cohort works together to take on one signature “Big Project.” This project is a full-scale campus event or initiative that the cohort designs, plans, and brings to life from start to finish. This is where everything you’ve learned gets put into action.

Retreat

The cohort bonds at the annual Frog Aides retreat during the Fall semester. The overnight retreat connects students through engaging and meaningful activities that will create memories to last a lifetime. If you ask a Frog Aides alum what their favorite memory is, 9.9 out of 10 times, they will bring up retreat.

Mentorship & Connection

TCU is a special place, and Frog Aides helps you find your corner of it. Frog Aides connects you with leaders and mentors from all across campus that you may have not had the chance to meet otherwise. You will build friendships and a network that lasts well past your first-year of college.

What’s Your Why?

Before you can lead others, you have to know yourself. Frog Aides dedicates real time to the question, “What’s Your Why?” You’ll explore your values, your purpose, and your reason for being a leader. It’s not just a one-time meeting topic, it’s a conversation that keeps showing up in everything you do.

You’ll leave with a clearer sense of the leader you already are, and the one you’re becoming.
